Our services rely heavily on materials available in the Local History & Genealogy Department of the Muskogee Public Library. Due to the recommendations from the CDC about "social distancing" during the COVID-19 public health crises, the library limits the number of people in the building and the amount of time they can spend.
These social distancing and "safer at home" limitations affect our researcher as well. We will do our best to fulfill your research requests within those limitations.
We offer two types of research:
Copies from our Records Indexes
Our researcher will provide scans or photocopies from any source from our Records Indexes.
Only submit a request for one person or one look-up at a time.
Advance payment of a $10.00 search fee includes one scanned image or one photocopy ($7.50 for MCGS members).
If there is more than one page (as in a probate file), additional scans or copies are $.10 each. We will let you know if the file is more than one page once we receive your request.
Research and Consultations
We offer other research and research consultations via email. The fee is $10.00 per hour for members of the Muskogee County Genealogical Society, $20.00 per hour for non-members, and does not include the cost for any document copies. Payment for at least one hour of research is expected in advance.
The Society cannot guarantee that a search will be successful, and the research fee is not refundable.
Your inquiries should provide as much detail as possible regarding names, dates, and places and should indicate what sources you have already examined.
Please state a specific research question.
